Australia: Healthy Day Books

This week 2KM were given a challenge to create a Healthy Day Book where they had to include healthy foods from the five food groups
  • meats and protein
  • fruits
  • vegetables
  • dairy
  • grains and cereals
If you eat from all of these food groups you will get all the important vitamins and nutrients you need and have the energy to get the most out of each day!

    Your "healthy day" seemed very healthy! You definately had something from all of the food groups. Like for your lunch you had a ham and cheese sandwich which contains meat and dairy, and for your snack you had grapes and carrot sticks which is fruit and veggies.

    Today I have a ham sandwich, a banana, and some yogurt for lunch. Tomorrow, I will try to have something from all of the five food groups!

    I love the foods you selected for your day! Very yummy and good for you! I eat yogurt every day for snack. I like peach, lemon, lime, and pina coloda.

    When you said that you had Weetbix for breakfast I smiled because... now I know what those are. Before I met all of you, I would have been scratching my head wondering what you ate! :-)

    I did enjoy eating the Weetbix when Kate brought them in. However, I have not seen them at the store. Perhaps I'll ask Kate where her mom shops so I can purchase a box.

    You ask me which is my favorite food group. I really can't pick! I like to eat foods from all the groups because then you can be healthy and have a variety of tastes.

    If I had to pick...I guess I would say dairy. I LOVE cheeses and yogurt and milk!

    Mrs Yollis, you asked me what my favourite food group is. Well, I would have to say that fruit would be my favourite.
    Fruit is my favourite food group because I LOVE apples, grapes and even oranges.
    I still love every other food group.
