Americans Learn About Weetabix

Our Australian friends talked about a food called Weetabix when we Skyped them last week

Only Kate had heard of Weetabix and that's probably because her father is from Australia.

Today, Kate brought in a box of Weetabix to share!

Mrs. Yollis broke a few biscuits apart for people to a sample.

Raise your hand if you want more!

It's official, Mrs. Yollis' class LOVES Weetabix! Thanks 2KM!

Are they this popular in Australia?

  2. Hahah I laughed when I saw your "Weetabix" because ours are called "Weet-bix". They look the same though.

Weet-bix are so popular in Australia, they even have their own website!
    http://www.weetbix.com.au/

Weet-bix have been around for over 100 years and they are Australia's most popular breakfast cereal (according to the website!)

Weet-bix are good with milk. You can have warm or cold milk.

It is fantastic that Kate brought some Weetabix in to share!

We have a question for you - what is your most popular breakfast cereal?

  3. @ Miss McGeady,

In America we have a lot of popular breakfast cereal. In my opinion Frosted Flakes are the best, but the most popular is probably Honey Nut Cheerios.

    Sincerley,
    Ben

  4. @ Ben,

Thanks for letting me know! I have heard of those cereals but I'm not sure if you can buy them in Australia. You might be able to.

  5. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

Weetabix is a very delicious food! I asked my mom to try to find it the next time she goes to the grocery store. If she finds it, I am going to try it with my breakfast. I wonder if my five-year-old brother will like it. What do you think?

    From,
    Kendall

  6. Dear 2KM,

I love Weetabix. It tastes like cereal, but better. I wish they would sell a lot of these in the U.S.

  7. Dear Miss McGeady,

WeetaBix is a fantastic tasting healthy snack which I enjoy. We got to eat Weetabix twice! Weetabix is quite unusual looking.

  8. Dear Kate,

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE WEETABIX, it tasted SO GOOD. What do you like to do with the weetabix, do you like to put it in yogurt, mix it in milk, or is there anything else you like to do with it? Where can you buy weetabix?

    Sincerely,
    Caleb

  9. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

The wheat-bix was really good. It kind of tasted like frosted flakes without the frosting. Wheat-bix was better. I showed my mom at the store, and she said "It sounds good for a breakfast." My sister did not think it looked good, but my opinion is she is wrong.

  10. Dear Mrs. Yollis & class,

Since I discovered Wheat-Bix I've been looking for it around the house. After I found it, I have been eating it for breakfast daily! From my experience, I have learned you HAVE to eat it quickly.

    Sincerely,
    Ayush

Thanks so much for the Wheat-Bix! It tastes so good!

The crunchy part of the Wheat-Bix was my favorite part.
